Who is the Mineral County Economic Development Authority, and what can we do for YOU?

Our Mission Statement

To further the economic and social condition of all Mineral County residents, through effective communication, public education and all means available.

Our Organization

Mineral County Economic Development Authority is a 501-C-3 private nonprofit organized for the purpose of industry attraction, job creation and community development and education.  We are the recognized Economic Development office for Mineral county.  The state, site selectors and private citizens provide us with leads for new industry.  Leads can be a letter, phone call or other information from any source that would give us the opportunity to invite a new company to town.  

We provide assistance with community and economic development, site selection, government liaison, local representation, temporary office space, workforce development, applications, job fairs, recruitment, education, business consulting, business plan development and micro-loans and any reasonable service to help bring jobs to the community.

Our office services include but are not limited to a business incubator, technology resource center, small business development, employment applications and resume assistance.   Local businesses are welcome to use our computers to give skills tests, develop business plans and post jobs online.  We’re open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Our partners are: Nevada Commission on Economic Development, Nevadworks , Small Business Development Centers, Nevada Microenterprise Initiative, and Western Nevada College

Mini Business Incubator

We’re remodeling the MCEDA office to include a mini incubator that will house up to 4 small businesses. The mini incubator provides up to one year of temporary and very limited office space, assistance with your business to help small businesses grow into self-sustaining enterprises with their own, permanent locations.   Businesses will be required to provide their own printer, printer ink and paper and phone and phone lines.   Other restrictions may apply, the full application will be available on the web site at the first of May.   Applications for this limited, temporary space are also available at the MCEDA office.  To qualify, you must have an active business or approved business idea, a local and state business license, a business plan and the desire to take the business from here to the main streets of Mineral County.  The businesses also have access to loans from Nevada Microenterprise Rural Nevada Development Corporation, Small Business Administration , The Veteran's Administration and other funding sources. 

Business Education and Nevada Microenterprise Loans as well as NxLevel Classes are a small sample of our available services.   We are also asking if there is interest in other classes such as:   How to Sell on E-Bay, Quickbooks, and Small Business Start up planning that you call our office at 775 945 5896

NxtLevel classes will be running from February 26 - May 23 on Thursdays, THE CLASS IS FULL, watch for on line opportunities for NxtLevel training.
